The product

Do I need solar panels?
No. Solar saves you money when the sun’s out. A Juicy battery saves you money every day of the year, including in January, because it buys electricity when it’s cheap rather than generating it. No roof work, no scaffolding, no planning permission. If you already have solar, we work alongside it.
How does a battery lower my bill if I use the same electricity?
Electricity costs different amounts through the day. Overnight it can be a third of the daytime rate. Your battery fills up in the cheap hours and runs your home through the expensive ones, so you’re buying the same electricity at a much lower price. Your usage doesn’t change. What you pay for it does.
Where can the battery be installed?
Usually a garage, a utility room, or a sheltered spot on an external wall. Following current UK safety guidance we don’t install in lofts or under stairs. You show us your preferred spot during the remote survey and we confirm it meets fire safety regulations and our installation requirements.
Are batteries safe?
Yes. We only use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, a more stable chemistry than the batteries in phones and laptops and the standard choice for home storage. Every system has a battery management system monitoring temperature and condition continuously, and we monitor remotely too.
Will it keep my lights on in a power cut?
Not as standard. Backup power needs extra equipment and changes the installation. Ask us during your quote if it matters to you and we’ll tell you what’s possible at your property.
How noisy is it?
Quieter than a fridge. You’ll hear a faint hum from the inverter when it’s working hard. Most customers put it in a garage or utility room and never notice it.
How long will it last?
The battery carries a 15-year warranty. Lithium Iron Phosphate cells degrade slowly, so expect it to still be doing useful work well beyond that, with reduced capacity.

Money and savings

How much will I actually save?
£440 to £1,141 a year, depending on how much electricity you use: a smaller home using about 225 kWh a month saves around £440 with either battery; a family home using about 342 kWh a month saves around £668 with either battery; a large home using about 583 kWh a month saves around £750 with the 10 kWh or £1,141 with the 16 kWh. Your figure depends on how much electricity you use, when you use it and which tariff you’re on, which is why we ask for your latest bill before quoting rather than guessing.Assumptions. Without Juicy assumes the Jul '26 price cap of 26p/kWh. With Juicy assumes a smart tariff at 9p/kWh off-peak and 32p/kWh peak, with the battery charging overnight and running the home through the day. Prices held flat; no solar. Your quote uses your own bill.
How long until it pays for itself?
Typically five to seven years. On the best time-of-use tariffs it can be closer to four. Your quote shows your own payback figure, calculated from your bill rather than an average.
Are there any monthly fees?
No. Ten years of optimisation software, maintenance and monitoring are included in the price you pay up front. We never invoice you again.
Why is it so much cheaper than everyone else?
Because your battery earns money helping to balance the national grid, and we pass that value to you as a discount up front. The full explanation is on our homepage.
Do I get paid for exporting electricity?
Any export payments from your supplier are yours. We don’t take a share.

The guarantee

What’s the catch? Who controls the battery, and for how long?
You own the battery from day one. Juicy manages when it charges and discharges for ten years. It’s a condition of your savings guarantee, because we can only guarantee savings we deliver ourselves, and it’s how we earn the grid revenue that funds your discount. Like a boiler guarantee that’s conditional on annual servicing, except we do the servicing every second, remotely, and you never book anything.
Ten years is a long time. What if I want out?
You repay part of the discount you received. It falls every year and reaches zero at year ten. Your quote shows the exact figure in pounds before you commit, so you know the cost of leaving before you start. After year ten the agreement runs month to month with 30 days’ notice and nothing to repay.
What if I move house?
Two options, both free. Pass the guarantee terms to the new owner, or take the battery to your next home. Neither triggers a clawback.
Who owns the battery?
You do, from day one. We don’t own it, lease it to you, or hold any rights over your property.
What if Juicy stops trading?
You’d still own a working battery, and you’d be free of the guarantee terms. That’s the most important protection and it’s built into how the deal is structured rather than promised.
Do I have to switch tariff?
You don’t have to, but you’ll save considerably more on a time-of-use tariff. We tell you which one suits your home and help you switch. You choose your supplier; we don’t replace it.
Can you drain my battery and leave me with nothing?
No. Our guarantee commits us to moving at least 80% of your usable capacity into your peak hours every day. The whole model depends on your bill going down.

Installation

How long does the whole process take?
About a week for the 10 kWh system, which doesn’t need network operator approval. Two to four weeks for the 16 kWh and 20 kWh systems, because those do. The installation itself is one day either way.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, for the day. Someone over 18 needs to be there to let the engineers in and take the handover walkthrough at the end.
Will you make a mess?
No. Floors covered, overshoes on, all waste and packaging taken away. There’s a full walkthrough of installation day on our how it works page.
Do I need scaffolding or planning permission?
No. Batteries go on a wall inside or on the outside of your home. No roof work and no planning application.
What if my survey finds a problem?
We tell you the exact cost of any additional work in writing before anyone visits and before you pay anything. You can go ahead, or walk away with nothing to pay. Once you’ve accepted your price it’s locked and we never add costs on the day.
Do you cover my area?
We install nationwide across England, Scotland and Wales.
