Version: 30 September 2026.
You buy a home battery at a big discount. In exchange, we manage it for at least 120 months and use it to help the grid. We look after it, keep it optimised, and guarantee your savings. The full terms are below and always at juicy.energy/terms.
Juicy Energy Group Ltd, company number 16710272, 66 Herbert Gardens, London, NW10 3BU. Contact hello@juicy.energy. Complaints complaints@juicy.energy. These terms apply to orders placed on or after 30 September 2026.
You get a battery at a big discount. In exchange, we manage it for at least 120 months, and after that month to month until either of us ends it. We provide optimisation, monitoring and maintenance at no extra charge for as long as we have access, and we guarantee your savings, with a simple claim after each annual statement (clause 6.7).
1.1 When you buy a Juicy battery at the discounted price, you are entering into two linked agreements:
(a) A purchase: we carry out a technical survey, design the installation, then sell and install a home battery energy storage system at the Property. You own it outright once installed and paid for.
(b) A grid services agreement: you grant Juicy exclusive operational control of the battery for a minimum of 120 months. We use this control to optimise your energy usage and to provide services to the electricity grid.
1.2 Why is the battery cheaper? Your Order Proposal Form shows two prices: the Standard Price and the Total Price you pay. The difference is the Grid Services Discount. We offer this discount because managing your battery allows us to support the electricity grid and keep your energy costs low.
1.3 What you get in return. For as long as we have operational control of your battery, we provide the following at no extra cost:
(a) remote optimisation of your battery (charging and discharging schedules);
(b) setting the battery’s charging and discharging schedule to match your electricity tariff, where practicable;
(c) monitoring and diagnostics;
(d) firmware updates and settings management;
(e) warranty support and coordination;
(f) servicing and maintenance as required by manufacturer guidelines (except where needed due to misuse or unauthorised modification); and
(g) access to your battery data in the Juicy app, and during the Grid Services Period an annual statement of the savings we have measured for you and your position against the Savings Guarantee (clause 6.7).
1.4 Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms. Nothing in this contract takes away rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
1.5 If there is a conflict between these terms and the Order Proposal Form, the Order Proposal Form takes priority for commercial terms (price, scope and timings).
These are the specific terms we use throughout this contract. If a word is capitalised, it has the meaning given here.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Battery System | The battery, inverter, monitoring and control hardware, and associated components installed at the Property. |
| Property | The address where the Battery System is installed, as set out in the Order Proposal Form. |
| Order Proposal Form | The document you sign that confirms the Battery System specification, prices, Optional Extras and installation scope. |
| Standard Price | The recommended retail price of the Battery System including Standard Installation, shown on the Order Proposal Form. This is the full, unsubsidised price. |
| Discounted Price | The reduced price of the Battery System you pay, as shown on the Order Proposal Form. This excludes installation. |
| Installation Fee | The Standard Installation fee shown on the Order Proposal Form. |
| Total Price | The Discounted Price plus the Installation Fee. This is the total amount you pay for the Battery System and Standard Installation. |
| Grid Services Discount | The Standard Price minus the Total Price, as shown on the Order Proposal Form. |
| Optional Extras | Items you choose to add on your Order Proposal Form that are not part of the Battery System or Standard Installation, such as a protective cover for the Battery System. Each is priced separately on the form with its VAT treatment. |
| Deposit | The installation deposit stated in the Order Proposal Form, paid when you order. It is your first payment towards the Total Price and pays for the technical survey and design work we do first (clause 3.6). |
| Scheduling Payment | 40% of the Total Price and any Optional Extras after deducting the Deposit, payable when we confirm your installation date. |
| Installation Payment | The remaining balance of the Total Price and any Optional Extras, payable before work starts on the installation day. |
| Standard Installation | The installation scope included in the Installation Fee, described in Schedule A. |
| Non-standard Works | Work outside the Standard Installation, such as long cable runs, consumer unit upgrades, groundworks, structural alterations or backup power. |
| Grid Services Period | The minimum 120-month period starting from Commissioning during which Juicy has exclusive operational control of the Battery System. |
| Commissioning | The date the Battery System is commissioned and handed over to you. |
| Peak Period | The hours in each day when your electricity tariff charges its highest import rate. For a tariff whose import rate changes every half hour, the highest-priced four hours of that day. If your tariff has a single import rate there is no Peak Period and clause 6.6 does not apply on that day. |
| Off-peak Period | The hours in each day when your electricity tariff charges its lowest import rate. For a tariff whose import rate changes every half hour, the lowest-priced four hours of that day. |
| Minimum Daily Capacity | 80% of the Battery System’s usable capacity, or, if lower, whichever is lowest of your Peak Period electricity consumption that day and the Battery System’s maximum charging power in its manufacturer datasheet (or any lower DNO limit) multiplied by the length of your Off-peak Period, delivered as demand shift from your Off-peak Period into your Peak Period. Where consumption data for a day is unavailable, we use your average Peak Period consumption over the previous 28 days for which we have data. |
| Grid Services Dispatch | Any use of the Battery System to support the electricity grid or provide flexibility services, including exporting stored energy, holding capacity in reserve for a grid services instruction, and not charging in your Off-peak Period for a grid services reason. |
| Savings Guarantee | The guarantee in clause 6.7. |
| Guarantee Year | Each period of 12 months from Commissioning during the Grid Services Period. |
| Guaranteed Annual Saving | One tenth of the Total Price shown on your Order Proposal Form, or the total of the Total Prices on all your Order Proposal Forms if we have added capacity under clause 8.4. |
| Recommended Tariff | A time-of-use electricity tariff we have recommended to you in writing, or confirmed to you in writing as suitable, or treated as suitable under clause 6.7.3. |
| Measured Saving | For a Guarantee Year: the import cost you avoided, calculated from our dispatch records as the electricity the Battery System discharged into your home (including energy stored from any Solar PV System) valued at your import rate at the time of discharge, less the electricity we imported from the grid to charge it valued at your import rate at the time of charging. Amounts paid to you under clauses 6.4 and 6.6 for that year are added under clause 6.7.5. |
| Unoccupied Day | A day (midnight to midnight) on which the electricity consumed by your household at the Property, excluding electricity used to charge the Battery System and including electricity you use directly from any Solar PV System, is less than 3 kWh, as measured by our monitoring equipment. |
| Solar PV System | A solar photovoltaic generation system at the Property, whether installed before or during the Grid Services Period, as recorded on your Order Proposal Form or notified to us under clause 8.1. |
| DNO | The distribution network operator for your area, which must be notified of, or approve, the connection under Engineering Recommendations G98 or G99. |
| Force Majeure Event | An event outside a party’s reasonable control, as described in clause 13.2. |
This section covers who can buy, how to order, the technical survey, the Deposit, and installation.
3.1 Who can buy. You can place an order if:
(a) you are at least 18 and live in Great Britain;
(b) you own the Property or have the owner’s written consent for installation;
(c) the Property passes our technical survey after you order;
(d) the battery is for domestic use only; and
(e) you agree to the grid services terms in Section 6 for at least the Grid Services Period.
3.2 How to order. You place an order by accepting these terms, signing the Order Proposal Form, and paying the Deposit. A contract for the technical survey and design work (clause 3.6) is formed when you place your order. No contract for the supply and installation of the Battery System or for grid services is formed until we confirm acceptance, which we will do within 5 working days. We may decline your order, or cancel it after acceptance, in four cases. They are: the Property fails our technical survey; the DNO refuses the connection or imposes conditions we consider impracticable; Non-standard Works are needed and you do not agree to them; or we cannot obtain the equipment on your Order Proposal Form or equivalent equipment. In each of these cases we refund every payment you have made, including the Deposit, within 14 days. If the equipment on your Order Proposal Form is unavailable, we may supply equivalent equipment of the same or better specification. We will tell you in writing before installation, and you may cancel for a full refund including the Deposit if you do not accept it.
3.3 Technical survey and installation scope. After you order, we carry out a technical survey of the Property (remotely or in person) to confirm it is suitable and whether the installation is a Standard Installation. Once we accept your order, the Total Price on your Order Proposal Form does not increase, except under clause 3.7 if installation is delayed past 60 days by you, and we do not add costs on the day of installation. If the technical survey identifies Non-standard Works, we quote them separately for your approval before proceeding. If you do not agree to them, you may cancel, or we may cancel, and we refund every payment you have made, including the Deposit, within 14 days.
3.4 Installation. We will agree an estimated installation date with you once any DNO approval is in place. Where your inverter is rated above 3.68 kW per phase, your DNO must approve the connection under G99 before we can install. We make any DNO application (G98 or G99) for you. DNO approval commonly takes 4 to 8 weeks and is outside our control. Confirmed dates may still change because of stock shortages, engineer availability or Force Majeure Events, and we will tell you as soon as we know. If we have not installed within 6 months of accepting your order for reasons not caused by you, you may cancel and we refund every payment you have made, including the Deposit, within 14 days.
You must provide safe access, working space, and have an authorised adult present during installation.
If you reschedule with less than 72 hours’ notice, or if a visit is aborted because we cannot access the Property or because the Installation Payment has not cleared (clause 4.4(b)), we may charge a £95 fee. We will not charge it where the payment failure is caused by our payment provider. This fee will be waived once per contract if you can show a genuine emergency.
We will install the Battery System with reasonable skill and care, in line with BS 7671 (18th Edition), IET guidance, and manufacturer requirements. After installation and full payment, we will provide commissioning documentation, installation certificates, and warranty information.
We will make good to a safe standard. Cosmetic redecoration and specialist finishes are not included.
3.5 Your responsibilities. You must provide accurate information for safe design and installation. You must obtain any required planning or building consents. We make any DNO application (G98 or G99) for you, but DNO approval times are outside our control. You must tell your home insurer that a battery has been installed.
You may stay with your chosen energy supplier and tariff. Some tariffs or third-party controls may limit our ability to optimise the battery (see Section 8), and the Savings Guarantee is measured on the basis in clause 6.7.
3.6 Deposit. The Deposit is your installation deposit and your first payment towards the Total Price. It pays for the first part of the installation service: the technical survey and design work we do after you order and before your install. This is not the online form you complete to get a quote. By ticking the box on the Order Proposal Form you ask us to start that work straight away, during the cancellation period in Section 12. If you cancel before we have started the technical survey, we refund the Deposit in full. If you cancel after we have started the technical survey but before the design is complete, you pay a proportionate part of the Deposit for the work done and we refund the rest within 14 days. Once the technical survey and design are complete, the Deposit has been earned and is kept if you then cancel before installation begins, or if we cancel under clause 4.5 because you have not paid, but you owe nothing more. We refund the Deposit in full if the order is cancelled under clause 3.2, 3.3 or 3.4, or if a Force Majeure Event prevents installation.
3.7 Price validity. Your Total Price is fixed from the date we accept your order until installation. If installation has not taken place within 60 days of acceptance, we may re-quote to reflect any increase in our costs since acceptance. This applies only where the delay past that date is caused by you not giving access or not paying the Scheduling Payment within 7 days of our request. If you do not accept the new price you may cancel and we refund all payments other than the Deposit, which clause 3.6 governs. Clause 3.3 (Non-standard Works) applies in any case.
You pay the Total Price. If you end the arrangement early, you pay back some or all of the discount, in proportion to the months left.
4.1 Your Order Proposal Form shows:
(a) the Standard Price (the full, unsubsidised price of the Battery System and Standard Installation);
(b) the Total Price (the Discounted Price you pay for the Battery System, plus the Installation Fee);
(c) the Grid Services Discount (the difference between the two); and
(d) any Optional Extras you have chosen, each priced separately.
4.2 Prices on your Order Proposal Form include any VAT that applies. The Battery System and its installation are currently zero-rated for VAT in Great Britain under HMRC VAT Notice 708/6, so no VAT is included in the Total Price. Optional Extras, such as a protective cover, carry VAT at the rate shown on your Order Proposal Form, and Non-standard Works at the rate shown on their quote, in both cases usually the standard rate. If a VAT rate changes after we accept your order, the prices on your Order Proposal Form do not change: we absorb the difference.
4.3 The Deposit is payable when you place your order, by card or bank transfer through our payment provider (Stripe).
4.4 Payment schedule. After the Deposit, the balance of the Total Price and any Optional Extras is payable in two stages, by card or bank transfer through our payment provider (Stripe):
(a) the Scheduling Payment, 40% of the balance after the Deposit, when we confirm your installation date. We may release the date if this is not paid within 7 days of our request; and
(b) the Installation Payment, the remainder, before work starts on the installation day. We send you the payment link when we confirm your date and remind you the working day before. If the payment has not cleared when our engineer arrives, we will not start work, the visit counts as aborted under clause 3.4, and we rebook once payment clears.
Non-standard Works are payable with the Scheduling Payment unless their quote says otherwise. Your Order Proposal Form may set a different schedule, in which case it takes priority.
4.5 If you do not pay the Scheduling Payment, the Installation Payment or any Non-standard Works within 30 days of its due date, we may cancel your order by written notice. We then refund every payment other than the Deposit, which clause 3.6 governs. We may postpone installation while any of these amounts is unpaid. Interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily, applies to any amount we invoice under these terms (including under clauses 4.6 and 12.10) that is not paid within 30 days.
4.6 The Grid Services Discount and clawback. The Grid Services Discount reflects the value we expect to earn from operating your battery for grid services over the Grid Services Period. If you end the grid services arrangement early (see Section 7), you must repay some or all of the discount.
How the clawback is calculated. You repay the Grid Services Discount multiplied by the number of whole months remaining in the Grid Services Period at the date the arrangement ends, divided by 120. A part month counts as completed, so it does not increase what you repay. Example: a £2,500 Grid Services Discount, ending after 30 months, leaves 90 months remaining, so you repay £2,500 x 90 / 120 = £1,875. After month 120 nothing is repayable.
The clawback reflects the discount we gave you upfront for a service period you have not completed. We will invoice the clawback amount on termination and it is payable within 30 days.
No clawback applies if you end the arrangement because we are in material breach and we fail to fix the problem within a reasonable period after you notify us.
You own the battery once it is installed and paid for. Until installation is complete, any loss or damage to the equipment is our responsibility. After that, it is part of your home.
5.1 Risk passes to you when installation is complete. Before then, we bear the cost of any loss or damage to the equipment. After then, the Battery System is part of your home and you must insure it under your home insurance (clause 13.1). This does not affect our warranties in Section 10 or our liability for loss or damage we cause (clause 13.1).
5.2 You own the Battery System once it is installed and paid for.
5.3 If equipment is delivered before installation, you must store it safely and take reasonable steps to prevent loss or damage.
This is the core of the deal. We manage your battery to optimise your energy use and support the electricity grid. Here is exactly how that works, what limits we follow, how you are protected, and what we guarantee.
6.1 Exclusive operational control. You own the battery. During the Grid Services Period (and any continuation after it), you grant Juicy exclusive operational control for the purpose of delivering the services described in clause 1.3 and participating in grid services.
This means we control charging, discharging, export settings, reserve levels, and firmware configuration, subject to safety and manufacturer limits.
6.2 What you must not do. During the Grid Services Period, you must not override, reset, disconnect, relocate or modify the Battery System or any Juicy-installed hardware without our written consent, or let anyone else do so. The same applies to connecting to the Battery System any third-party service that controls or dispatches it, such as an aggregator. Read-only monitoring apps are allowed, and clause 8.3 governs consent. None of this applies where action is required for safety or in a genuine domestic emergency.
If you disable or materially restrict our control or monitoring, we will notify you and give you at least 14 days to fix the issue. If not fixed, we may suspend the services in clause 1.3 and, if the issue continues, treat it as an early termination of the grid services arrangement (and the clawback in clause 4.6 will apply).
6.3 How grid services work. We may use your battery to provide flexibility and balancing services to the electricity grid. We always follow this priority order:
(a) safety, legal compliance, protecting the manufacturer warranty, and never interrupting your home’s electricity supply;
(b) grid services, flexibility, and balancing obligations; and
(c) delivering your optimisation and Minimum Daily Capacity.
We will operate within manufacturer-specified cycle limits to protect battery life. We retain all income from grid services. Where your Solar PV System is generating and grid services allow, we charge the Battery System from your own generation before charging it from the grid.
6.4 We will not operate the battery in a way that intentionally increases your electricity bill. If our Grid Services Dispatch increases your net electricity cost in a billing month, compared with the cost you would have incurred had we operated the battery only for your own optimisation that month, we will pay you that amount. Where you have a Solar PV System, this includes the cost of replacing self-generated electricity that our dispatch caused you to lose, for example where we used or exported stored solar you would otherwise have used yourself. We value any such payment at the import rate you would otherwise have paid for that electricity at the time it would have been used, so energy lost at a Peak Period time is valued at your peak rate. For example, if we export 5 kWh of your stored solar at 4pm for a grid event and you then import 5 kWh at 7pm at 30p per kWh, we pay you £1.50. We calculate this from our dispatch records and pay it automatically under clause 6.8, so you do not need to claim it. This protection does not cover changes in tariff rates, standing charges, taxes, your household consumption, smart meter data errors, or Force Majeure Events.
6.5 All batteries degrade over time with use. We will operate within the manufacturer’s recommended cycle limits and warranty conditions to protect battery life.
6.6 Minimum Daily Capacity. We commit to delivering the Minimum Daily Capacity each day: 80% of the Battery System’s usable capacity shifted from your Off-peak Period into your Peak Period, or less where the Minimum Daily Capacity definition caps it. We cannot shift more electricity than you use in the Peak Period, or more than the battery can charge in a short Off-peak Period, so the commitment is capped at both.
This commitment does not apply on days where performance is materially affected by:
(a) changes to your tariff or tariff structure;
(b) Grid Services Dispatch (any extra cost this causes you is paid under clause 6.4);
(c) loss of the controller’s connection to our systems for more than 7 consecutive days, from the eighth day, caused by you (including breach of clause 9.1) or by a Force Majeure Event;
(d) your breach of clause 6.2, 9.1 or 9.2, or a fault excluded by clause 10.4; or
(e) a Force Majeure Event.
If the battery misses the Minimum Daily Capacity on any other day, we calculate a payment for that day automatically and pay it under clause 6.8. This includes a day lost to a fault we are responsible for under Section 10, up to 30 days for any one fault. The payment equals the cost of the shortfall energy at your prevailing Peak Period import rate. This payment is your remedy for this specific shortfall and does not limit your statutory rights.
6.7.1 We guarantee that your Measured Saving in each Guarantee Year is at least the Guaranteed Annual Saving.
6.7.2 Within 60 days of the end of each Guarantee Year, we send you a statement showing your Measured Saving and the Guaranteed Annual Saving. If your Measured Saving is lower, the statement says so, shows the difference, and tells you how to claim it. You can claim by email to hello@juicy.energy or in the Juicy app within 90 days of the statement. You do not need to send any evidence: we use our own records. We pay the difference by bank transfer within 30 days of your claim. If you have not claimed within 60 days of the statement, we remind you by email and in the Juicy app. If you do not claim within 90 days, the shortfall does not lapse: it is carried on to your next statement and stays claimable until the arrangement ends, but we do not pay it until you claim.
6.7.3 Two things affect how we measure it.
(a) You are on a Recommended Tariff. We will recommend a tariff to you in writing before Commissioning. It must be a tariff you can take at the Property from a supplier available to you. If we have not recommended a tariff before Commissioning, any time-of-use tariff you are on at Commissioning is treated as a Recommended Tariff until we do. Please tell us within 30 days if you change tariff, by email to hello@juicy.energy or in the Juicy app. If you tell us within 30 days, we measure from the date of the change. If you tell us later, we measure using the tariff we hold for you until you do, unless your actual tariff gives you a higher Measured Saving. If you tell us your tariff has changed, we will confirm within 10 working days whether the new tariff is a Recommended Tariff; if we do not respond in that time, it is treated as one. If the Recommended Tariff stops being available to you and you tell us, we will recommend another within 10 working days; until we do, the tariff you are on is treated as a Recommended Tariff.
(b) Your home is in use. Unoccupied Days beyond the first 21 in a Guarantee Year are excluded, so ordinary holidays do not affect the guarantee but a home left empty does.
Three kinds of day are left out of the Measured Saving, counting each day once: days on a tariff that is not a Recommended Tariff, Unoccupied Days beyond the first 21, and days excluded under clause 6.6(c), (d) or (e). The Guaranteed Annual Saving for that year is then reduced in the proportion that the excluded days bear to the days in that Guarantee Year. Where consumption data for a day is unavailable, it is not treated as an Unoccupied Day.
6.7.4 The guarantee runs for the Grid Services Period. A final part year, where the arrangement ends for any reason during the Grid Services Period, is measured in proportion. We send the final statement within 60 days of the arrangement ending. If a clawback is invoiced under clause 4.6, we deduct any shortfall from it automatically, whether or not the clawback is yet due, and pay you any excess under clause 6.8; otherwise clause 6.7.2 applies. This clause prevails over clause 6.8 for that set-off.
6.7.5 We measure from our dispatch records and your tariff rates, not from your bills. Amounts paid to you under clauses 6.4 and 6.6 in a Guarantee Year are added to the Measured Saving for that year and are not paid twice. For a tariff whose import rate changes every half hour, we value each half hour at the rate that applied to it. You may ask us for the dispatch and tariff data behind any statement, and you may dispute a calculation through clause 13.5.
6.8 How we pay you. Any amount we owe you under clauses 6.4, 6.6 or 6.7 is paid by bank transfer to a UK account you nominate. Amounts under 6.4 and 6.6 are paid by the end of the month following the month they arise. Amounts under 6.7 are paid within 30 days of your claim under clause 6.7.2. We may set off any amount you owe us that is overdue and undisputed. We will send you a statement showing how each amount was calculated.
After 120 months, you can end the arrangement on 30 days’ notice. If you end it early, the clawback applies. Here is what happens when the arrangement ends.
7.1.1 If you want to end the grid services arrangement during the Grid Services Period (and it is not because we are in material breach), the clawback in clause 4.6 applies.
7.1.2 If you end the arrangement because we are in material breach and we fail to fix the problem within a reasonable period after you notify us, no clawback applies.
7.2.1 After the Grid Services Period, the arrangement continues on a rolling monthly basis. Either party may end it on 30 days’ written notice. No clawback applies after the Grid Services Period has expired.
7.2.2 We will remind you at least 60 days before the Grid Services Period ends that the arrangement will continue monthly unless you give notice.
7.3.1 When the arrangement ends (whether during or after the Grid Services Period):
(a) we stop optimisation, remote control, monitoring, and grid services;
(b) we stop providing maintenance at no extra charge, and the Battery System warranty in clause 10.2 ends where that clause says so;
(c) your manufacturer warranties stay in place;
(d) we may deactivate or remove Juicy-installed control or communications hardware on reasonable notice; and
(e) the battery will continue to work in its standard local operating mode.
7.3.2 After the arrangement ends, the Battery System will operate in its default manufacturer mode. You will be able to control basic settings (such as charge/discharge schedules and reserve levels) through the manufacturer’s own app or interface. We will provide setup guidance for self-management before the arrangement ends. You may engage any third-party provider to manage the battery afterwards.
7.4.1 We may terminate the grid services arrangement if you are in material breach (including interfering with our control under clause 6.2) and you fail to remedy the breach within 14 days of our notice. If we terminate for your breach during the Grid Services Period, the clawback applies.
7.4.2 We may also terminate if a Force Majeure Event continues for more than 90 days, on 14 days’ written notice under clause 13.2, in which case no clawback applies.
7.5 If we stop providing the services. If we, or a replacement operator we or our successors appoint, permanently stop providing the services in clause 1.3 for any reason, including insolvency, and it is not because of your breach:
(a) no clawback applies;
(b) you keep the Battery System and all manufacturer warranties;
(c) the Battery System continues to work in its local operating mode and you may control it through the manufacturer’s app or appoint another provider; and
(d) any amount due to you under Section 6, including a part Guarantee Year under clause 6.7.4, remains payable.
Adding solar panels, an EV charger or other energy equipment is fine. Tell us first so we can adjust your battery’s settings. The only thing that needs our agreement is a system that would take control of the battery.
8.1 If you plan to add solar panels, an EV charger, another battery or other energy equipment during the Grid Services Period, let us know before it goes in, so we can adjust your settings and make sure everything works together. Equipment already at the Property and recorded on your Order Proposal Form, including any existing Solar PV System, is fine as it is.
8.2 We will assess whether the new equipment is compatible with our optimisation and may need to adjust settings. Equipment that generates, routes, or consumes electricity but does not take direct control of the Battery System, such as a solar PV array, a solar diverter, or a replacement solar inverter, is permitted and does not require our consent. We will not unreasonably refuse to accommodate new equipment.
8.3 You must not install or enable any third-party system that takes direct control of the Battery System during the Grid Services Period without our prior written consent. If you do so without consent, this will be treated as a breach of clause 6.2 (exclusive operational control) and we may suspend the services in clause 1.3 and, if not remedied within 14 days of notice, terminate the grid services arrangement and apply the clawback. We will not unreasonably withhold or delay consent, and we will respond to a written request for consent within 5 working days.
8.4 Adding battery capacity. If we install additional battery capacity for you during the Grid Services Period, it joins the existing grid services arrangement from the date it is commissioned. The Grid Services Period does not restart or extend. Your Order Proposal Form for the added capacity will state its own price and Grid Services Discount, if any, and the clawback in clause 4.6 applies to that discount by reference to the original Commissioning date. The Minimum Daily Capacity and Guaranteed Annual Saving are recalculated from the date of the addition on the combined system, pro rata for the remainder of the current Guarantee Year.
Your Juicy controller has its own mobile data connection, so you do not normally need to give us your broadband. We collect data to run the service. Here is what we collect and why.
9.1 The Juicy controller connects to our systems over its own mobile data connection, at no cost to you. You must keep it powered and must not remove or disable it or its SIM. If the mobile signal at the Property is too weak, we may ask you to connect the controller to your home broadband instead. If the connection is lost for more than 7 consecutive days because of you or a Force Majeure Event, we may suspend performance commitments from the eighth day until it is restored.
9.2 You must maintain or enable access to smart meter or equivalent energy data where we reasonably need it. If your supplier blocks access or data is persistently unavailable, we may limit features that rely on it.
9.3 To provide the services, we collect and process the following data:
(a) battery performance data (charge levels, cycle counts, temperature, firmware status);
(b) energy usage data (import, export, consumption patterns from smart meter data);
(c) grid services data (dispatch events, response times, revenue allocation);
(d) account and billing data (name, address, email, payment details); and
(e) technical data (connectivity status, system diagnostics).
9.4 We process this data to deliver the services, optimise your battery, participate in grid services, provide support, and comply with legal obligations. Our legal bases are performance of this contract and our legitimate interests in operating the grid services business.
9.5 We may share aggregated, anonymised performance data with grid services partners. We will not share your personal data with third parties except as necessary to deliver the services, comply with law, or as described in our Privacy Notice. With your consent, we may share your battery and energy usage data with your electricity supplier to help resolve a billing dispute. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
9.6 We keep account, billing, payment and dispute records for the duration of the contract and for 6 years afterwards (for legal and regulatory compliance). We keep battery and energy usage data for the duration of the contract and 12 months afterwards, then delete or anonymise it. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us, and you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
9.7 Full details are in our Privacy Notice: juicy.energy/legal/privacy.
We warrant our installation work for 24 months and the battery and inverter for 120 months. You can claim from us and do not need to deal with the manufacturer. Our battery warranty ends if the grid services arrangement ends early because of you, or if you keep the battery at the Standard Price after cancelling the grid services arrangement. Maintenance is at no extra charge while the arrangement is active.
10.1 Workmanship. We warrant our installation work against defects for 24 months from Commissioning and put right any defect at no cost to you.
10.2 Battery System warranty. For 120 months from Commissioning, if the battery or the inverter develops a fault not excluded by clause 10.4, we repair or replace the faulty part at no cost to you. You can claim from us and do not need to deal with the manufacturer. We may use the manufacturer’s warranty to meet our promise. If the grid services arrangement ends before the end of the Grid Services Period, other than under clause 7.1.2, 7.4.2, 7.5, 11.2(a) or 13.2, this warranty ends with it and the manufacturer’s warranties continue on their own terms, which we give you at Commissioning. This warranty also ends if you keep the Battery System at the Standard Price under clause 12.10, because we no longer have the remote access needed to diagnose faults; the manufacturer’s warranties continue.
10.3 Capacity. All batteries lose capacity with use. Capacity retention is covered by the manufacturer’s performance warranty, on the terms in the warranty document we give you at Commissioning, and not by clause 10.2. We operate within the manufacturer’s limits and handle any valid capacity claim for you while the grid services arrangement is active.
10.4 Exclusions. Clauses 10.1 to 10.3 do not cover faults caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, third-party works, pests, flood, fire or external electrical faults. We may charge reasonable costs to diagnose and repair these.
10.5 Reporting faults. Tell us about visible installation defects within 14 days of Commissioning and about any other fault as soon as you notice it. We diagnose remotely first where we have remote access, and repair or replace within a reasonable period. A day on which a fault we are responsible for causes the battery to miss the Minimum Daily Capacity is paid for under clause 6.6. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your rights to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, are unaffected.
10.6 We will give you at least 14 days’ notice of scheduled maintenance visits. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice or miss an appointment, we may charge a £95 rescheduling fee.
If you move during the Grid Services Period, you have three options.
11.1 If you sell or leave the Property during the Grid Services Period, tell us as soon as you can.
11.2 You may:
(a) transfer the grid services arrangement to the new owner or occupier. They must sign our transfer form accepting these terms before you leave the Property, and the Grid Services Period continues unchanged. No clawback applies. Your part of the current Guarantee Year is measured in proportion up to the transfer date and settled with you under clause 6.7.2. The Savings Guarantee then continues for the new owner from the transfer date, measured against the same Guaranteed Annual Saving. Any time-of-use tariff the new owner is on at transfer is treated as a Recommended Tariff until we confirm otherwise under clause 6.7.3. If the new owner cancels within their own 14-day cancellation period, we will tell you and option (c) applies to you from that date;
(b) relocate the battery to another property you own (subject to feasibility and you paying reasonable relocation costs, no clawback applies); or
(c) end the grid services arrangement, in which case the clawback in clause 4.6 applies.
11.3 We do not have to approve a transfer or relocation if the new property does not meet our technical or safety requirements.
You have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. If you asked us to start early and we have done work, you pay for the work done. The battery purchase and the grid services arrangement are linked: cancel one and both are cancelled, unless you choose to keep the battery at the Standard Price.
12.1 You have a right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
12.2 For the Battery System (goods), the cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate, other than the carrier) physically receive the Battery System or its last component.
12.3 For the grid services arrangement, the cancellation period expires 14 days after the day we confirm acceptance of your order under clause 3.2.
12.4 To cancel, you must inform us by a clear statement (for example, by email to hello@juicy.energy or by using the Model Cancellation Form at Schedule B).
12.5 Requesting early performance. There are two separate requests.
(a) By ticking the box on the Order Proposal Form you ask us to start the technical survey and design work straight away (clause 3.6).
(b) When we confirm your installation date we will ask you to confirm in writing that you want installation to go ahead during the cancellation period. We will not install without that confirmation.
Each request is made in writing or another durable form, and we tell you the consequences under clause 12.7 before you make it. Each request includes your acknowledgement that, once the work you have asked us to start has been fully performed, you lose the right to cancel that part of the service. For the technical survey and design work, that means the Deposit is earned once the design is complete.
12.6 A request for early performance does not guarantee that installation will take place within the cancellation period. Installation remains subject to completion of the technical survey, DNO approvals, stock availability, and engineer scheduling. We will proceed as quickly as reasonably practicable.
12.7 If you request early performance and then cancel during the cancellation period:
(a) you must pay a proportionate amount for the installation service we have performed up to the date you tell us you are cancelling, compared with the full Installation Fee. The technical survey and design work is the first part of the installation service. The Deposit counts as part of the Installation Fee. Once the technical survey and design are complete, the Deposit is the amount due for that part; if not, clause 3.6 applies; and
(b) if installation has been completed, you have lost your right to cancel the installation service, because it has been fully performed at your request. You may still cancel the purchase of the Battery System within 14 days of receiving it. If you do, we collect it at our cost. We refund everything you have paid, less the amount due for the installation service under (a) and for any Non-standard Works completed, within 14 days of your telling us you are cancelling. We may also deduct any loss in value caused by your handling of the Battery System beyond what was needed to inspect it.
12.8 If you have not requested early performance of installation under clause 12.5(b), or if installation has not yet begun, you may cancel within the cancellation period. We will refund all payments within 14 days, except any part of the Deposit earned under clause 3.6.
12.9 This section does not limit your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12.10 Linked agreements. The Battery System purchase and the grid services arrangement are linked, and the Discounted Price depends on both. If you cancel the Battery System purchase under this Section, the grid services arrangement is cancelled at the same time and clauses 12.7 and 12.8 apply as relevant. If you cancel the grid services arrangement under this Section, the purchase is suspended for 14 days. Within that time you may tell us in writing that you wish to keep the Battery System at the Standard Price. If you do, the purchase continues, we invoice you the Grid Services Discount and you pay it within 30 days. Our Battery System warranty in clause 10.2 ends in that case and the manufacturer’s warranties continue. If you do not, the purchase is cancelled at the end of the 14 days and clauses 12.7 and 12.8 apply as relevant. No clawback under clause 4.6 applies to a cancellation under this Section.
This section covers liability, force majeure, IP, battery end-of-life, complaints, and governing law.
13.1 Our liability to you. We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for:
(a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
(b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
(c) liability under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 (product liability);
(d) damage to your Property or possessions caused by our negligence or by our defective installation work; and
(e) any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made, for business losses, or for savings you expected but did not achieve, other than as set out in clauses 6.4, 6.6 and 6.7.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you is limited to £100,000 per incident and £250,000 in total in any 12-month period.
You are responsible for maintaining home insurance that covers the Battery System as a fixed installation.
13.2 Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by a Force Majeure Event: an event outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, grid failure, government action, pandemic, or supply chain disruption. If a Force Majeure Event continues for more than 90 days, either of us may end the grid services arrangement on 14 days’ written notice. No clawback applies in this case.
13.3 Intellectual property. All intellectual property in our website, software, and services belongs to Juicy or our licensors. While the grid services arrangement is active, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Juicy app for viewing your battery data, managing your account, making a claim under clause 6.7.2 and telling us about a tariff change under clause 6.7.3. You must not misuse, reverse-engineer, or interfere with our systems.
13.4 Battery degradation and end of life. All lithium batteries degrade over time. The rate of degradation depends on usage patterns, temperature, and charge cycles. Your manufacturer warranty will specify the guaranteed capacity retention over time.
When the battery reaches end of life, you are responsible for its safe disposal or recycling in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. We will provide guidance on disposal options and recycling services available at that time.
13.5 Complaints. If you have a complaint, email complaints@juicy.energy. We will acknowledge your complaint within 1 working day and aim to resolve it within 8 weeks.
If we cannot resolve your complaint within 8 weeks, or if you are dissatisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to alternative dispute resolution. We are not currently a member of a certified ADR scheme but are willing to consider ADR on a case-by-case basis. You can find a certified ADR provider through the Chartered Trading Standards Institute at www.tradingstandards.uk/consumer-help/adr-approved-bodies. You are not required to use ADR before taking your complaint to court.
13.6 General. These terms are governed by English law. If you live in Scotland, Scots law applies and you may bring proceedings in Scottish courts.
We may send notices by email to the address you provide. You may send notices to hello@juicy.energy.
You may not transfer this agreement without our written consent. We may assign or subcontract our obligations where it does not materially reduce your rights.
No person other than you and Juicy has rights to enforce these terms.
We may use subcontractors to deliver the services. We remain responsible for their performance.
These terms, the Order Proposal Form, Schedules A to C, our written tariff recommendation, the warranty documents we give you at Commissioning, and any document expressly incorporated by reference form the agreement between you and Juicy. This does not exclude any statement that is a term of the contract under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
A Standard Installation includes:
Not included: backup power (the ability to run your home from the battery during a power cut). Backup needs additional hardware and wiring designed for your home. If you want it, it is Non-standard Works, designed and quoted after the technical survey. We do not quote backup before then.
Not included: Optional Extras such as a protective cover for the Battery System. These are priced separately on your Order Proposal Form.
Anything outside the above may be treated as Non-standard Works and quoted separately.

| Trader | Juicy Energy Group Ltd, 66 Herbert Gardens, London, NW10 3BU. Company No. 16710272. Email: hello@juicy.energy. Telephone: 0333 880 1845. |
| Main characteristics | Home battery energy storage system (Battery System) sold at a discounted price in exchange for a 120-month grid services commitment. Includes optimisation, monitoring and maintenance for the duration of the grid services arrangement, a 120-month Battery System warranty (clause 10.2), and the Savings Guarantee (claim-based, clause 6.7.2). |
| Total price | Total Price as stated in your Order Proposal Form. The Battery System and installation are currently zero-rated for VAT, so no VAT is included in the Total Price. Optional Extras and Non-standard Works are priced separately with VAT at the rate stated, usually the standard rate. Once accepted, your prices do not change if a VAT rate changes. The only case in which the Total Price can be re-quoted is if installation is delayed past 60 days by you (clause 3.7). The Order Proposal Form also shows the Standard Price and the Grid Services Discount. |
| Payment | Deposit on order. 40% of the balance (Total Price plus any Optional Extras, less the Deposit) when your installation date is confirmed, with any Non-standard Works. The remainder before work starts on the installation day, by a payment link sent at booking. All by card or bank transfer through Stripe. |
| Deposit | The Deposit is your installation deposit and first payment towards the Total Price. It pays for the technical survey and design work we do after you order, which you may ask us to start straight away. It is refunded in full if you cancel before the technical survey starts, if we cannot proceed, or if you decline Non-standard Works, and in proportion if you cancel during it. Once the technical survey and design are complete it is not refunded if you cancel before installation (clause 3.6). |
| Delivery and performance | Installation at the date agreed with you after the technical survey and any DNO approval. Grid services and the services in clause 1.3 begin on Commissioning. |
| Right to cancel | You have 14 days to cancel after receiving the Battery System (goods) or entering the contract (grid services). If you ask us to start early and we do work, you pay a proportionate amount for it (clause 12.7). If you cancel the purchase after installation we collect the Battery System at our cost. The purchase and the grid services arrangement are linked: cancelling one cancels both unless you keep the Battery System at the Standard Price (clause 12.10). See Section 12 and Schedule B. |
| Return of goods | If you cancel the purchase after installation, we remove and collect the Battery System at our cost (clause 12.7(b)). |
| Legal duty | We are under a legal duty to supply goods that conform to the contract (Consumer Rights Act 2015). |
| Codes of conduct | We are not currently a member of a code of conduct. |
| Loss of the right to cancel | If you ask us to start the technical survey and design work straight away, you lose the right to cancel that part of the service once it is complete (clause 12.5). If you ask us to install during the cancellation period and installation is completed, you lose the right to cancel the installation service (clause 12.7(b)). |
| Commercial guarantees | 24-month workmanship warranty (clause 10.1). 120-month Battery System warranty, which ends if the grid services arrangement ends early because of you, or if you keep the Battery System at the Standard Price under clause 12.10 (clause 10.2). Savings Guarantee, adjusted for days off a Recommended Tariff and for Unoccupied Days beyond 21 a year (clause 6.7.3), claimed within 90 days of each annual statement (clause 6.7.2). Manufacturer warranties are given to you at Commissioning. |
| Minimum duration | The grid services arrangement has a 120-month minimum period. If you end it early, you repay the Grid Services Discount in proportion to the months remaining (clause 4.6). After 120 months it continues month to month and either of us may end it on 30 days’ notice (clause 7.2). |
| Digital content | Juicy optimisation software provides remote battery management, energy monitoring, and grid services participation via the controller’s mobile data connection. |
| Complaints | Email complaints@juicy.energy. We acknowledge within 1 working day. If unresolved within 8 weeks, you may refer the matter to alternative dispute resolution. Details of certified ADR providers are available at www.tradingstandards.uk/consumer-help/adr-approved-bodies. |
