Juicy for landlords
A smart battery in each of your properties, owned, installed and maintained by Juicy for a monthly subscription. Your tenants' bills fall without them changing a thing. Your properties get smarter ahead of the new EPC rules, with no capital outlay.

Why now
The government's Warm Homes Plan confirmed it: every private rented home in England and Wales must meet EPC C or equivalent by 1 October 2030, or hold a valid exemption. Landlords are expected to spend up to £10,000 per property to get there, and councils can fine up to £30,000 per breach.

The standard is also changing shape. From October 2026, EPCs score homes on four measures instead of one, and after fabric, landlords must meet a second standard through either the heating system or smart readiness: the home's ability to store energy, shift consumption and cut bills through smart technology. A managed smart battery is built for exactly that, without the disruption of ripping out a heating system.
How it works
Electricity prices change through the day. Smart tariffs offer very cheap rates at off-peak times.
Juicy's software fills the battery when electricity is cheapest, then powers the home during peak hours when prices are highest.
Your tenants use the same amount of electricity, at the same times, in the same way. They just pay less for it.
What you get
A managed smart battery is designed for the new smart readiness measure, one of the two routes to the secondary standard every rented home must meet.
Juicy owns the hardware. You pay a monthly subscription per property instead of writing a five-figure retrofit cheque per home.
Cheaper bills make your property easier to afford and harder to leave. A tenant saving hundreds of pounds a year has one more reason to renew.
No panels needed. If a property already has solar, the battery stores the generation and improves the return on it.
Installation, monitoring, servicing, repairs and warranty support are all handled by Juicy for the full term. No callouts land on your plate.
Energy and carbon reporting across your properties, useful for lenders, ESG requirements and your own records.
What your tenants get
Lower electricity bills at no cost to them, with no change in how they live. Juicy households typically save £400 to £900 a year.
A reserve of stored energy is always kept in the battery for the household's use.
More of the home's electricity comes from cheaper, cleaner off-peak power. The battery also does a second job supporting the grid, which is part of how we fund the service.
And they can see it working. Every household gets the Juicy app at no charge, showing the battery's activity and estimated savings.
What tenants commit to
Before we install, each household signs up with Juicy and confirms a short list of practical points:
Create a free Juicy app account and consent to us using the home's smart meter data. This is how we optimise the battery and show them their savings.
Switch to the smart tariff we recommend. This is what unlocks the savings.
Give access for the installation and for occasional planned maintenance visits, with at least 14 days' notice of planned visits.
Keep the home's broadband connected. The battery needs an internet connection to do its job.
Leave the battery alone, and tell us about any fault or damage. No unplugging, moving or tampering.
Tell us, or tell you, when they plan to move out.
That's the whole list. No payments, no penalties, no behaviour change. And we only schedule an installation once the household has signed up, so nothing is ever forced on a tenant.
Our commitments
We commit to shifting at least 80% of each battery's usable capacity from cheap off-peak electricity to peak times every day. If a battery falls short, we credit the shortfall automatically.
We will never operate a battery in a way that intentionally increases a home's bill. If our management ever causes a demonstrable increase, we credit the evidenced amount.
A minimum level of stored energy is always kept in the battery for the household.
If a tenant moves out, the agreement carries on. The incoming tenant takes on the same commitments and starts saving the same way.
The process
A call to understand your portfolio and what the 2030 rules mean for it.
Submit the properties you want assessed. We review them remotely against our installation criteria.
A clear list of which properties qualify, with any non-standard works identified and quoted before you commit.
A 10-year agreement for each property you go ahead with. Start with one, or start with fifty.
Accredited engineers, installed in a day per property, grid permissions handled by us. Tenants start saving from their first month on the recommended tariff.
FAQs
A monthly subscription per property, fixed for the term. The right number depends on your properties and how many you enrol, which is why the first step is a call rather than a price list.
Companies, LLPs, registered providers and other incorporated bodies. If you hold your properties personally rather than through a company, this product isn't available to you yet.
Because we own the hardware and carry the cost of the battery, the installation and a decade of maintenance. The term is what makes the subscription work without a capital payment from you. After 10 years it rolls monthly and you can end it with 30 days' notice, with no exit fee.
The agreement can transfer to the new owner by arrangement with us, so a battery becomes part of what you're selling rather than a complication.
We only schedule an installation once the household has completed sign-up. Most tenants say yes to lower bills for no effort. If a tenant declines, that property simply doesn't go forward.
The agreement continues with the property. The incoming tenant takes on the same commitments and gets the same benefit.
We do, for the full term. Fair wear and tear, faults and anything caused by us are fixed at no charge. Damage from misuse or interference at the property is chargeable.
No. The battery saves money by buying cheap electricity, with or without generation. Where solar exists, the battery improves the return on it.
It helps, but it isn't the whole answer. New EPCs score smart readiness alongside fabric and heating, and a managed battery is the kind of technology that measure describes. We'll be straight with you about what it does and doesn't do for each property.
